MEET THE 30 ARTISTS WHOSE WORK WILL APPEAR ON PUBLIC SCREENS IN LONDON, SEOUL, MELBOURNE AND BERLIN, WITH ONE FINALIST AWARDED THE £30K CIRCA PRIZE

The CIRCA x Dazed Class of 2022 global public call-out invited aspiring filmmakers + new media creators to respond to the theme ‘A Future World’ inspired by the CIRCA 2022 manifesto ‘And Now We Build Worlds’ with a two-and-a-half minute film of new or pre-existing moving image work.

After receiving over 1,000 submitted artworks and watching over 40 hours of best-in-class film, the CIRCA and Dazed teams shortlisted the 30 finalists who will have their artworks screened on London’s iconic Piccadilly Lights, Berlin, Limes, Kurfürstendamm, Seoul, COEX K-Pop Square and Melbourne, Fed Square each on a dedicated day throughout this September at 20:22 local time.

One lucky finalist will be selected from a jury of industry leaders including Martine Syms, Precious Okoyomon, Jefferson Hack, Josef O’Connor, Honey Dijon, Arca, Norman Rosenthal, Kandis Williams, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Kay Pallister, Anika Meier, Caleb Femi, Ruth Waters, Laure Prouvost, Guido Gregorio Daminelli, Sophie McElligott and Amar Ediriwira to receive the #CIRCAECONOMY prize of £30,000, to put towards their practice and a future 10-minute commission to be presented on the Piccadilly Lights in 2023.

PUBLIC VOTE

New for the Class of 2022, CIRCA and Dazed have introduced an additional cash prize of £10,000 powered by Piccadilly Lights that will be awarded to a finalist who receives the most public votes. Global audiences have until midday on 10 October to watch the final 30 films and vote for your favourite finalist to win the Piccadilly Lights Prize.
