FUGEES HOPELINE +1(424)7-384337

Formed in New Jersey in the early 1990s, Fugees are the Grammy Award-winning hip-hop group comprising Ms. Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel. Taking their name from the word refugees, the trio developed a distinctive musical language drawing together hip-hop, soul, reggae and R&B, exploring themes of identity, displacement, belonging and social consciousness.

Their landmark second album, The Score (1996), transformed the landscape of popular music. Featuring Ready or Not, Fu-Gee-La and Killing Me Softly With His Song, the album earned two Grammy Awards and established the Fugees as one of the most influential groups of their generation. Three decades later, its fusion of musical traditions, storytelling and cultural perspectives continues to resonate across generations and geographical boundaries.

In 2026, CIRCA marks the 30th anniversary of The Score through a new artistic collaboration with Ms. Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean. Bringing together three original photographic collages, the interactive sonic commission Fugees Hopeline +1 (424) 738-4337 and new Fugees music, the project extends the group’s creative history into visual art and participatory practice. Moving between archival imagery, personal testimony and collective expression, the collaboration considers how the cultural significance of The Score continues to evolve, connecting its history with new audiences and forms of artistic exchange.
