CIRCA PRIZE
APPLICATIONS CLOSE
31 JULY 2022
CIRCA x Dazed Class of 2022 returns bigger and brighter with an open call for new media creators and world builders to win the #CIRCAECONOMY cash prize of £30,000 and see their work appear on London’s iconic Piccadilly Lights screen in September.
This year’s theme ‘A FUTURE WORLD’ is inspired by the CIRCA 2022 manifesto ‘And Now We Build Worlds’, calling for new media responses with a two-and-a-half minute moving image work. This could be an existing piece of work or a new creation. It’s entirely up to you!
The annual ‘Class of’ showcases the best-in-class of new-gen moving image artists and new media creators. Following a month-long open call, a shortlist of 30 will be selected by this year’s jury panel including Arca, Martine Syms, Precious Okoyomon, Norman Rosenthal and Hans Ulrich Obrist. The winner of the #CIRCAECONOMY £30,000 cash prize will be announced in October.
Want to win £30,000 and see your work on London’s iconic Piccadilly Lights screen? Now’s your chance. All you have to do is fill out the form below and submit your work before the 31 July 2022.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
CIRCA X DAZED CLASS OF 2022
1. The open call
1.1 CIRCA kicked off in October 2020 with a manifesto that challenged the concept of public art by pausing digital adverts across screens in Piccadilly Circus, Milan, New York, Melbourne, Tokyo and Seoul a.o. with new work by 48 artists that provoked dialogue in the public space, whilst generating funds in support of the art & culture community.
Dazed is an independent British fashion, culture and arts magazine with a reputation for groundbreaking photography, fashion and editorial. It was founded by Jefferson Hack and photographer Rankin as Dazed & Confused in 1991.
Last September 2021, we introduced the CIRCA x Dazed Class of 2021, a global call for new media artists which resulted in a shortlist of 30 artists who each got a day throughout September to showcase their work on the Piccadilly Lights. The final winner was selected by Marina Abramović and received the inaugural #CIRCAECONOMY prize of £30,000. This September 2021, we continue the ‘Class of’ initiative with a new open call for new media talent.
